PERSONAL FUNERALS AND MEMORIALS
in Moray, Speyside, Inverness and Aberdeen

Many families would choose the option of a personal and fully flexible funeral for their loved one if they knew they had the option. I regularly have people approach me immediately after a funeral ceremony expressing pleasure and surprise that the ceremony was so personal, so inclusive, and a real thanksgiving and celebration all about the person - I'm often asked how people could find me if they needed me, and it's a good question.

Here in the North of Scotland the Funeral Directors who will take the time to explain all your options to help ensure you get the most fitting ceremony for your loved one are sadly in the minority, but still little by little more and more people know they can have a fully flexible funeral. Usually you’re asked what you’ve decided for the ceremony – and if you only knew about a Religious or Humanist ceremony, then you would decide between the two, which might mean you didn’t feel either option fitted your needs exactly.

I'm here to be of help whether a Funeral Director approaches me on your behalf, or whether you contact me yourself directly. I’m happy to work alongside the Funeral Director, Funeral Arranger or family or friend you choose to help with all the practical aspects of the ceremony.

Whether you choose to have a ceremony that is still quite traditional in its format and some of its content ie containing prayers and hymns, or whether you would like to explore the possibility of having something which is quite alternative and different, I'm here to help you find the best way of giving your loved one a fitting final send off.

ALTERNATIVE FUNERALS
Traditional or Creative – YOU get to choose

For some families it's right and fitting to have a black hearse and limousine as the funeral cars. Whether you would choose something else if you could - a horse and cart, a tractor and trailor, a different coloured hearse (perhaps silver or white), or some other fitting form of transport for your loved one ie a motorcycle hearse; both myself and some of my Funeral Director colleagues are willing to offer any help you need to enable you to have all you choose.

I've been asked to hold ceremonies at Moray (Buckie), Inverness and Aberdeen crematoria. I've also held ceremonies in halls, churches and at gravesides. I'm told until about thirty years ago it was tradition to have a funeral ceremony at the home of the person who had passed on. Should you wish to have your loved one's funeral ceremony in their or your home or garden, I'm very happy to oblige.

Should you wish to obtain a reference for me from a reputable local Funeral Director I'm well known to the following -

Graham Rattray in Lossiemouth, Elgin and Buckie (01343 815073)
Bill and George Beverly in Huntly, Rhynie and Insch (01464 861207)

GREEN FUNERALS
Honouring the Wishes of your Loved One

If you wish to organise a Green Funeral I'm very happy to officiate at one of the number of Green and Woodland Burial Sites in this area (and beyond).
